How can horses help?
Horses offer a unique experience for veterans who are struggling with PTSD, anxiety, depression, loneliness, and other mental health and social issues. By working with horses, veterans can gain a greater understanding of themselves and their experiences Horses can help veterans learn self regulation skills, empathy, patience, improve communication skills, and build relationships. Horses are sensitive animals and can respond to a person’s actions and body language in a way that encourages self-reflection and emotional healing. Additionally, working with horses can help veterans develop a sense of purpose and meaning in their lives.
